Larger aquariums need larger heaters not only to keep the water at a consistent temperature, but to also run efficiently.

Here are some 300-watt models for hobbyists with fish tanks on the bigger side.

It has a feature of automatically turning off when not submerged in water properly to avoid overheating. Its temperature range is 68-88 degrees Fahrenheit. This design can be safely implemented in both saltwater and freshwater aquariums.

Fluval E Electronic Heater

This Fluval E Electronic Aquarium provides temperature reading in both Celsius and Fahrenheit, with temperature range in 68-93 degrees--Fahrenheit, that is. It has dual temperature sensors coupled to an LCD screen that changes color to alert you when temperature changes over 2 degrees Fahrenheit from your preset. It also displays real-time water temperature in normal functioning as well.

A controller adjusts the titanium heating tube, which is housed in a guard to maintain the safety of your fish. This tube is also safe for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.

The heater maintains water temperature within +/-2 degrees F of your set value to ensure the safety of your aquarium dwellers.

Hydor In-Line External Heater 300-Watt

The Hydor In-Line External Heater is for external use only. It should be installed in the return hose of a canister filter or a wet/dry sump filtration system. It can be used both for tropical and marine aquariums. The temperature range is 18-34 degrees Celsius (64 to 93 F). A self-limiting PTC heating component provides maximum safety against overheating.
